Fabric Buildings

Sheltirx fabric buildings provide large, clear-span space for storage, equipment, vehicles, workshops, agriculture, and other commercial and industrial applications. Fast to install and flexible to design, they offer a practical way to add usable space without internal support columns.

Fabric Buildings for Industrial
& Commercial Applications

Fabric buildings are a fast way to create large amounts of covered space without the time and cost of conventional construction.

The clear-span design leaves the entire interior open for storage, vehicles, machinery, racking, or workshop use, with no internal columns taking up valuable floor space. The translucent fabric cover also allows natural light into the building during the day.

Our buildings use hot-dip galvanized steel frames with heavy-duty fabric covers and can be installed on concrete, asphalt, existing hardstanding, and a range of other foundation systems. They can be used for permanent or temporary applications and can be extended or relocated if requirements change.

Every building is made to suit the project, from smaller storage and workshop buildings through to large industrial facilities. Where specific wind, snow, or building code requirements apply, the structure can be engineered for the site with supporting calculations and drawings.

Common applications include:

● Warehousing & storage

● Workshops

● Manufacturing

● Machinery & equipment storage

● Vehicle maintenance

● Bulk material storage

● Waste & recycling

● Mining & quarrying

● Construction

● Ports & logistics

● Aviation

● Agriculture

Custom Built to
Your Exact Needs

Fabric buildings can be built to virtually any size and customized to suit your operation.

Choose the width, length, and height you need, along with the building profile, doors, openings, and level of enclosure.

Buildings can be open-ended, partially enclosed, or fully enclosed, with large access doors for vehicles and machinery and personnel doors where required.

Options can include insulation, lighting, heating, ventilation, internal liners, and other building systems.

Buildings can also be designed for permanent or temporary use and can be expanded or relocated if your requirements change.

Engineered for Wind, Snow
& Local Building Codes

Engineered fabric buildings are available for projects that need to meet specific building codes or weather requirements.

Buildings can be designed for the wind and snow loads at your location, taking into account the building size, site conditions, openings, foundations, and anchoring system.

Engineering packages can include:

● GA drawings & elevations

● Structural calculations

● Wind & snow calculations

● Foundation requirements

● Anchoring details

● Installation drawings & manuals

● Fabric warranties

● PE-stamped drawings where required

Drawings and calculations can be stamped by a licensed PE in your state if required.

FLEXIBLE OPTIONS

Here are just a few of the ways you can customise your container shelter.

Fabric Building Advantages

CLEAR-SPAN DESIGN

No internal support posts, giving you maximum usable space.

PERMANENT OR TEMPORARY

Suitable for both permanent facilities and temporary building requirements.

FAST CONSTRUCTION

Prefabricated components allow for quick installation and shorter construction times.

ENGINEERED OPTIONS

Site-specific engineering is available to meet local building codes and weather requirements.

MULTIPLE FOUNDATION OPTIONS

Buildings can be installed on concrete, asphalt, and existing hardstanding, as well as concrete slabs, poured foundations, grade beams, piers, concrete blocks, retaining walls, helical piles, ground anchors, and other engineered systems.

RELOCATABLE & EXPANDABLE

Buildings can be dismantled and relocated to another site. Additional bays can also be added if more space is required.

Installation and Site Requirements

Fabric buildings can be installed on a wide range of existing surfaces and foundation systems.

This includes concrete, asphalt, and existing hardstanding, as well as concrete slabs, poured foundations, grade beams, piers, concrete blocks, retaining walls, helical piles, ground anchors, and other engineered foundation and anchoring systems.

The right system depends on the size of the building, ground conditions, structural loads, and requirements of the site.

Prefabricated components help reduce construction time and site work. Once the foundations and anchors are ready, the steel frame is assembled and erected before the fabric cover, doors, and other building components are installed.

Full installation is available, or buildings can be supplied with the drawings and installation manuals required for an experienced contractor.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the main benefits of a fabric building?

Fabric buildings provide clear-span space, natural lighting, fast construction, high clearances, and flexible foundation options. They can also be expanded or relocated if required.

Can fabric buildings be built to any size?

Yes. Buildings can be custom designed to suit your required width, length, height, and application.

What surfaces and foundations can fabric buildings use?

Buildings can be installed on concrete, asphalt, and existing hardstanding, as well as concrete slabs, poured foundations, grade beams, piers, concrete blocks, retaining walls, helical piles, ground anchors, and other engineered foundation and anchoring systems. The correct system depends on the building, ground conditions, and structural loads.

Are fabric buildings permanent or temporary?

Both. Fabric buildings can be designed for permanent use or supplied as temporary and relocatable structures.

Can fabric buildings withstand high winds and heavy snow?

Yes. Engineered buildings can be designed for the wind and snow loads required at the installation site.

Can fabric buildings be insulated?

Yes. Insulation and internal liners can be added, along with heating and ventilation where required.

Can fabric buildings be extended?

Yes. Additional structural bays can be added to many buildings to increase their length.

Can fabric buildings be relocated?

Yes. Buildings can be dismantled and reinstalled at another location where required.

Can you provide PE-stamped engineering?

Yes. Drawings and calculations can be stamped by a licensed PE in your state if required.
