FAQ
Everything you need to know about our SkyShield™ container canopies, Stormax™ heavy-duty industrial storage tents and Formex™ bespoke engineered fabric buildings.
What's the difference between SkyShield™, Stormax™ and Formex™?
SkyShield™ = container-mounted container canopies / container shelters for fast weather protection and loading cover. Stormax™ = industrial storage tents and fabric warehouses for bulk storage and yard operations. Formex™ = bespoke engineered fabric structures built to your exact requirements.
Do your products meet US wind/snow requirements?
Where specific ratings need to be achieved we design to project location conditions. We work with you by researching your city/ZIP and target rating to map out the right calculations from the start. All of our fabric structures can be stamped by state engineers if you need certification for your project.
What's your lead time?
Stocked SkyShield™ container canopies and popular Stormax™ storage tents can be delivered within 10 working days. Formex™ bespoke fabric buildings lead times vary with design/fabrication (often 6–10 weeks). We can stage delivery around your program and site access windows.
How long does installation take?
Installation timeframes vary. Typically container shelters and industrial storage warehouses install in days once onsite for common sizes. Fabric building installation times depend on size, access and product specifications. As a guideline, medium sized structures are usually built within 1-2 weeks.
What foundations are needed for container shelters and storage tents?
SkyShield™ container dome shelters typically uses two ISO shipping containers as supports (ballasted/anchored per site). Stormax™ commercial storage tents can fix to concrete, ground anchors or blocks.
Do I need a permit for a temporary industrial fabric building?
Many US jurisdictions treat these as temporary structures but may still require a permit, engineering letter and site plan. We’ll support with drawings, load data and documentation; your GC or AHJ confirms local requirements.
What fabric and steel do you use?
Heavy-duty PVC/PVDF/PTFE fabric (UV-stable, fire-rated options) with hot-dip galvanized steel frames. Frames can be single or double-truss depending on span and load. Formex™ offers custom steel specs, door kits, end walls lighting and accessories.
Can you customise sizes and clearances for any fabric structure?
Absolutely. Stormax™ and SkyShield™ come in standard widths/lengths, but we can adjust spans, eave heights and door openings. For non-standard footprints or challenging sites choose Formex™ Bespoke.
What industries do you serve?
We support all industries needing our fabric buildings. Our most common are: Construction & infrastructure, logistics & distribution, aggregates & quarrying, utilities & energy, agriculture & ranching, and government and defence. Typical uses: loading canopies, bulk material storage, equipment maintenance cover, site compounds, and temporary works.
Warranty and aftercare
We offer a 20-year structural and 10-year fabric guarantee, alongside a 5-year spare parts warranty (excludes wear/tear). We provide Operations and Maintenance guidance and can schedule periodic inspections. Spare cover panels and hardware are often in stock for fast replacement.
SkyShield™ vs Stormax™ which is best for my yard?
Use a SkyShield™ container canopy when you already have ISO containers on site and need rapid, rugged cover with minimal groundworks. Choose Stormax™ storage tents for larger clear spans, enclosed sides, or warehouse-style storage.
Do you supply agricultural covers, livestock and field shelters?
Yes. We have our AgriCover™ line includes machinery bays, hay & feed storage, and livestock shelters with vented fabric and corrosion-resistant frames. We size spans and eave heights around tractors, tele handlers and cattle handling.
How quickly can you quote and confirm lead time?
The same day. Once you share your site location, target size (width × length × height), use case and any wind/snow requirements. We’ll return an itemised quote with our plan for your project.
